The position is available both part-time and full-time.

You will join a small, fast‑paced HR team where you will work closely with our Director People & Culture and an interim recruiter. Your responsibilities
Payroll preparation: Coordinate multi-country payroll preparation with tax advisors across Germany, Croatia, Slovakia, Austria, and France.
Handle employee onboarding, offboarding, registrations, deregistrations, social security, health insurance, and permits.
Contracts, Documents & Policies: Draft and manage employment contracts with Legal and external experts across multiple EU countries.
Prepare certificates, confirmations, and reference letters for employees and authorities.
HR-Tools, Automation & Compliance: Maintain HR systems, automate workflows, ensure GDPR, labor law, and compliance standards.
Maintain and update HR policies, ensuring compliance with data protection, working time, and safety requirements.
Employee Support: Support employees on HR topics and reduce workload through process optimization and documentation.
People Analytics: Build and report People KPIs, including sickness rates, retention, and leadership capacity insights.
About you
Experience: 3+ years in People Operations / HR Operations in a startup or scale-up.
Hands-on experience with preparatory payroll in Germany and ideally additional European countries.
Proven experience working with international teams and external payroll/tax providers.
Experience in setting up and running People KPIs, HR analyses, and management reports.
Practical knowledge in: German labor law, social security topics, and data protection (GDPR).
Confident working with HR systems (ideally Personio) and comfortable owning HR master data and tool configurations.
Language: Fluent in English (C2) and German (C2), French is a plus
Personality: service-oriented, and “hard on the issue, soft in tone.”
NICE TO HAVE
Experience with AI agents, automation, or workflow tools for HR/People Operations.
Experience rolling out or significantly improving HR systems (e.g., Personio) across multiple countries.
Experience with information security/compliance frameworks
Experience collaborating closely with Finance/Controlling on HR cost forecasting and headcount planning.
