MUNICH/BERLIN, October 30, 2025 – The Legal AI Workspace Beck-Noxtua will be officially available from November 26, 2025. Developed by C.H.BECK, Germany's leading legal publisher, and Berlin-based AI company Noxtua, the Legal AI Workspace exclusively combines the high-quality content of the beck-online legal database with the technology company's artificial intelligence, which has been specially trained for legal applications. Beck-Noxtua is thus setting new standards in terms of efficiency, quality, and security, such as professional secrecy protection, GDPR-compliant data processing, and European sovereignty.

“Beck-Noxtua is the next logical step in our development—comparable to the transition from printed books to the beck-online database,” explains Dr. Roland Klaes (member of the management board at C.H.BECK publishing house). “With Beck-Noxtua, we are creating a digital workplace that consistently maps legal work processes and whose results are always traceable thanks to the disclosure of the AI's thought process and the display of references from beck-online.”

“Digital sovereignty is not a buzzword, but a technical necessity – especially in the legal field,” emphasizes Dr. Leif-Nissen Lundbæk (CEO & Co-Founder of Noxtua). “With Beck-Noxtua, we are demonstrating that powerful AI based on European values such as privacy and the rule of law is possible – and that it creates real added value for legal practice.”

Three features characterize the Legal AI Workspace:

1.        Research – Legal research redefined

Beck-Noxtua automates legal research with speed and precision. Users formulate their questions in natural language while the AI independently creates a research plan, searches specific laws, commentaries, case law, and specialist literature in the beck-online database, which comprises more than 60 million documents, and delivers a structured, expert-like result. Each step is displayed by the AI and can be tracked on the screen. Referenced sources are displayed directly in the application, enabling quick and seamless verification of the statement.

2.        Understanding – Analyzing complex content transparently

Beck-Noxtua analyzes legal documents such as briefs, judgments, and contracts and checks clauses for validity. Standardized review schemes enable structured evaluations and concrete suggestions for improvement. The matrix analysis is particularly powerful, allowing up to 50 documents (and soon even more) to be evaluated and compared simultaneously – ideal for due diligence reviews or contract analyses.

3.        Drafting – Intelligent document creation

With its interactive workspace in canvas mode, Beck-Noxtua supports the creation of legal texts. Users can start with a blank document and instruct Beck-Noxtua to create a suitable text, or upload existing texts and edit them directly. Changes made by the AI are displayed in change mode and can be traced at any time. References from beck-online are inserted automatically. The finished document, including all changes, can be exported as a Word file.

A strong signal for European digital sovereignty

Beck-Noxtua stands not only for technological innovation, but also for a clear commitment to European digital sovereignty: Beck-Noxtua processes data exclusively on highly secure European servers, without any connection to US cloud providers. The solution meets all requirements for confidentiality and professional secrecy (Section 203 German Criminal Code, Section 43a and 43e German Federal Code for Lawyers) and is certified according to BSI C5, ISO 42001, and other international standards. The AI company Noxtua works closely with European partners such as IONOS, with whom they recently launched Germany's first sovereign Legal AI Factory. The data basis is beck-online, with more than 60 million documents, the most comprehensive legal database in the German-speaking world.

Beck-Noxtua is directed in particular at law firms, legal departments, the public sector, and the judiciary.
