About Noxtua
Who we are
Noxtua is built on extensive experience in AI development. The tech scaleup formerly known as Xayn was born in 2017 out of research by Dr. Leif-Nissen Lundbæk and Professor Michael Huth at Oxford University and Imperial College London — and over the years, has built an excellent team of smart and dedicated people from all over the world who are committed to building sovereign European AI. Noxtua wants to be a beacon of digital sovereignty, demonstrating that it is possible to develop powerful AI based on European values such as privacy, transparency, and the rule of law.
Working with the international team at Noxtua comes with many benefits — such as a remote-first approach combined with offices in the heart of Berlin, Paris, Zagreb, or Munich for those who want to experience office life.
“The initial idea of our company sparked in Oxford and London, we founded it back in 2017 in Berlin, and proudly opened new offices in Paris, Zagreb, and Munich. That’s Europe in a nutshell! Noxtua is a genuine European AI project and company, aiming to promote Europe’s sovereignty – especially in these times of increasing geopolitical uncertainty. The legal domain specifically needs to make sure it is independent and sovereign as the rule of law is one important pillar of our European democracies.”
