MUNICH, February 5, 2025 – The democratic legal system depends on independence. This makes sovereign digital AI solutions from Europe indispensable for the legal system. Against this backdrop, Europe's sovereign Legal AI Noxtua, together with the Beck-Noxtua Vertriebs GmbH, opened its Munich office yesterday. Germany's leading legal publisher C.H.BECK is developing the Legal AI Workspace Beck-Noxtua (available since the end of 2025) in collaboration with the AI company Noxtua AG, after the long-established publisher invested in the company as a leading partner in early 2025 in what was then Europe's largest financing round for Legal AI. The Bavarian Minister of Justice, Georg Eisenreich, also attended the opening of the new Noxtua office.

"The year 2026 will be a decisive year for the legal market: Based on our centuries-old tradition as one of Europe's leading legal publishers, we are at the forefront of AI development with Beck-Noxtua. With this collaborative approach, we are promoting Europe's publishing landscape in all its diversity in the age of AI and are also working with other leading European legal publishers such as MANZ Verlag from Austria. Together with Noxtua, we are developing a complete AI system and building on a sovereign AI infrastructure with German partners such as IONOS," emphasizes Professor Dr Klaus Weber (member of the Executive Board at C.H.BECK).

"The time for Europe is now. Sovereign AI made in Europe is no longer a mere dream, but a living reality, and at the same time it is more important than ever – especially in sensitive areas such as the legal system. This requires strong alliances. That is why Noxtua is not just an AI solution, but a genuinely European project in which we combine tradition and innovation with strong partners such as C.H.BECK, Germany's leading legal publisher. And our success proves us right," affirms Dr. Leif-Nissen Lundbæk (CEO & Co-Founder Noxtua).
The new Beck-Noxtua Legal AI Workspace covers the core areas of legal text work, ranging from information gathering (research) and analysis of complex issues (understanding) to document creation (drafting). Numerous features such as matrix analysis, agent-based workflows, source integration, and specialized templates facilitate the daily work of lawyers and are specifically designed for their specific needs. The database is based on beck-online, the most comprehensive legal database in the German-speaking world. It contains more than 60 million qualified documents from all areas of law and places a strong focus on commentary literature, which is essential for legal work.
