Europe’s Legal AI for Austria: MANZ and Noxtua launch Legal AI Workspace MANZ-Noxtua

  • MANZ-Noxtua combines content from Austria's leading legal publisher with Europe's sovereign Legal AI

  • Legal AI Workspace integrates research, analysis, and document creation into seamless agentic workflows

  • Noxtua develops legally competent and compliant AI on secure infrastructure under European control

VIENNA/BERLIN, June 24, 2026 – Austria's leading legal publisher MANZ and AI company Noxtua today launch MANZ-Noxtua. With this, MANZ expands its AI portfolio with a new Legal AI Workspace for legal professionals. Following the successful launch of the AI-powered research assistant MANZ Genjus KI in 2025, the publisher continues its digital strategy by bringing to the Austrian market an AI working environment specifically developed for compliant use in the German-speaking region. While many AI solutions rely on global infrastructure and general-purpose language models, MANZ-Noxtua represents a clear commitment to European sovereignty.

MANZ-Noxtua is built on sovereign European infrastructure and is operated in collaboration with European partners, under European control, in European data centers. The Legal AI Workspace combines 177 years of MANZ's legal expertise with the specialized AI technology of European legal-tech company Noxtua. Research, document creation, and analysis are brought together in an integrated platform, and through the unique Europe License, provide secure and efficient access to high-quality legal information from leading European publishers.

AI that understands law

Unlike generic AI systems, MANZ-Noxtua is a fully specialized Legal AI Workspace. It supports legal research, analysis and review of legal documents, as well as the drafting of briefs, contracts, and opinions. Additionally, the system enables structured legal workflows, matrix analyses of large document sets, and integration of external document sources.

Trust through European data security

MANZ-Noxtua meets the high standards for data protection, confidentiality, and security, and accounts for the specific professional requirements applicable to legal practitioners. These high standards are underpinned by internationally recognized certifications of Noxtua's management and security processes, including ISO/IEC 27001 for information security management, ISO/IEC 42001 for AI management systems, and the BSI C5 criteria catalog for secure cloud computing.

Noxtua uses its own AI model system specifically developed for legal requirements, operated in Europe and based exclusively on curated legal datasets. Furthermore, MANZ-Noxtua draws solely on copyrighted content from MANZ and partner publishers, as well as publicly accessible legal sources such as RIS, EUR-Lex, and Findok. Using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Agentic AI, this content is transparently integrated into AI responses.

"The legal sector faces growing regulatory and professional demands. MANZ-Noxtua combines decades of legal expertise with modern AI technology in a secure, sovereign infrastructure. This gives lawyers, institutions, and companies a tool that increases efficiency while guaranteeing very high quality and security standards,"states Mag. Susanne Stein-Pressl (Managing Partner of MANZ).

The Europe License: One platform, multiple publishers and jurisdictions

MANZ-Noxtua is part of Noxtua's pan-European and continuously expanding Legal AI network of leading legal publishers from across the continent, including C.H.BECK (Germany) and Helbing Lichtenhahn (Switzerland). Together, they are building — as a foundation for the Legal AI — Europe's largest Legal Database, with more than 100 million documents spanning over 250 years of European legal legacy.

With MANZ-Noxtua, legal professionals can access multiple European jurisdictions through a single platform with a single license. The Europe License enables cross-border legal work, research, analysis, and document creation based on reliable and exclusive content from leading legal publishers across Europe. The goal is to build a sovereign European AI ecosystem for the legal sector that combines the highest standards in data protection, security, and professional quality while ensuring digital independence.

"Noxtua connects pioneering AI technology with centuries of European legal legacy — all at the highest security standards and with European sovereignty that genuinely deserves the name, backed by European control. With the partnership with MANZ and the official launch of MANZ-Noxtua, Austria is now part of this network. With Noxtua as Europe's Legal AI, we connect Europe through legal data," highlights Dr. Leif-Nissen Lundbæk (CEO & Co-Founder, Noxtua).

MANZ Genjus KI and MANZ-Noxtua Working Together

The AI-powered research assistant MANZ Genjus KI and the Legal AI Workspace MANZ-Noxtua are part of MANZ's shared AI strategy and serve distinct, complementary functions. While Genjus KI is primarily designed as a research and assistance tool for legal professionals within the MANZ platform, MANZ-Noxtua is a standalone workspace for end-to-end legal workflows. MANZ-Noxtua accompanies legal professionals from research through analysis to structured document creation, and integrates flexibly into existing working environments.
